The founder was responsible for reviewing regenerative medicine and biological medical devices at the Biological Review Division II, Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency (PMDA), and worked on Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research from the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare and conducted clinical research on human stem cells, advanced medical care, etc., at the Research and Development Policy Division, Health Policy Bureau, Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare.
Subsequently, the founder supervised the review of regenerative medicine as the chief of the Review Division of Regenerative Medical Products of the PMDA and was responsible for revising the Pharmaceutical Affairs Law in 2014 and setting regulations for regenerative medical products.
The founder has developed various medical products, including human pluripotent stem cell products, as a specially-appointed lecturer at the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery, Osaka University Graduate School of Medicine, since 2017 and as a specially-appointed associate professor at the Joint Research Course for the Treatment of Critical Limb Ischemia since 2019.
Currently, the founder serves as a specially-appointed associate professor of the Endowed Course of Future Medicine and has started up and assumed the position of president of Hyperion Drug Discovery for research and development of regenerative medicine and gene therapy, Peach Consulting Limited for consultation, and Hyperion FoodTech Co. for the research and development of new food ingredients.
